Mercan Dede
Mercan Dede, is my favorite Turkish musician. His world is the distance between Istanbul and Montreal. I’ve seen him perform once in Toronto. Once was not enough. His music touches the soul of the artist. Gets to the back of the soul, mind, spirit. It will carry you away from here. His music: Sufi, fusion, dance, traditional Turkish instruments and electronic sounds.
Then I heard that he retired in September 2007. I wait for his return. The world waits for his return.
