Imagine Istanbul Joins Bloggers Unite for Human Rights

1 May, 2008 (07:39) | human rights

Bloggers UniteI have decided to join the thousands of bloggers who are participating in the Bloggers Unite for Human Rights challenge on May 15th. This campaign celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations. The Declaration of Human Rights is based on the universal ideals of basic rights and freedom, liberty and justice for all and not just some citizens of the world.

Bloggers who joins this campaign can unite and share their support of human rights by blogging on May 15th about a variety of topics which include the wrongful imprisonment of journalists, governments that ignore the plight of citizens, censorship of the Internet in order to prevent freedom of expression, harsh punishments that include torture, forced labor, and starvation, and sexual assault against women by members of military or militia.

How can you participate in “Bloggers Unite for Human Rights”? Simply visit the Bloggers Unite page to get more information. Then, on Thursday, May 15th, write a blog post that shares awareness about human rights.
